INVERTER

Overview of KEMET Inverters

KEMET offers inverters designed for single-phase and three-phase connections, providing robust power supply solutions across a range of applications. These inverters are especially useful in communication facilities, special-purpose applications, and extreme environmental conditions. They also serve as emergency power supplies for sensitive AC equipment in power plants, production plants, and offshore platforms.

For solar systems, KEMET’s inverters ensure smooth electricity input into electrical networks. They are also used in large wind energy plants, both onshore and offshore, supporting reliable power operations.

INVERTERS FOR EMERGENCY POWER SUPPLY

Our inverters, designed for input voltages of 24V and 48V, offer reliable power solutions even under fluctuating voltages. They generate sinusoidal output with low harmonic distortion and provide high short circuit current, making them suitable for critical consumers. Thanks to pulsed technology, the inverters feature a compact design and high efficiency. Their high pulse frequency improves recovery control during sudden load changes.

The power supply is typically ensured through 110V or 220V batteries, with rectifier options available. Consumers can be powered either by a DC source or through bypass supply, with the priority grid selected by the customer. Combined with batteries, these inverters serve as excellent emergency power solutions for sensitive AC systems in power plants, sewage treatment facilities, production sites, and more.

PULSE WIDTH MODULATED IGBT INVERTERS

Our inverters include key components such as a pulse width modulated IGBT inverter, static and manual bypasses, and a self-diagnosis system. Important system messages are clearly displayed on the front panel’s LCD display. In case of inverter failure or overload, the static bypass automatically transfers the load to the grid. During maintenance, manual bypasses ensure the continued power supply to consumers. Fast-switching thyristors manage the transition between bypass modes, while an isolation transformer at the inverter output guarantees safe operation. The self-diagnosis feature boosts reliability and simplifies maintenance. Remote diagnosis is possible with optional software.

Multiple Inverter Configurations

KEMET’s inverter systems come in three configurations: as open building panels (IP00), 19-inch slots, or housed in control cabinets. We also offer specialized versions for shipbuilding, mining, military, railway engineering, and other applications, customized upon request.

Plain Text Display and Monitoring

Our inverters are equipped with multiple monitoring devices to keep users informed of the system’s status. A microcomputer-controlled system manages the device and displays information on a 2×16 character LCD dot matrix screen. Fault alerts are triggered by a potential-free signal contact. Additionally, DC input filters with charge control and optional electronic or electromechanical changeover devices are available for seamless operations.

User-Friendly Operation

Operating KEMET inverters is simple, thanks to an intuitive menu-driven program. The system displays all measurement values, alerts, and status messages through a clear text display, with LEDs providing immediate status updates. This user-friendly design ensures smooth operation and quick access to critical information.

Industrial-Grade Static Converter

Our static converters feature IGBT technology with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for reduced output THD, even with non-linear loads. They utilize natural convection cooling for silent operation and are easy to maintain, with front access provided. Galvanic isolation between input and output enhances safety. The inverters operate with a wide DC input range (24, 48, 110, or 220 Vdc) and offer selectable single-phase (230 Vac) or three-phase (400 Vac) output. With full-load efficiency ≥ 88%, they perform reliably in ambient temperatures from -10°C to +50°C and humidity up to 95%. Operating quietly at ≤ 60 dBA, they function at altitudes up to 1000 meters. While the base unit features an IP20 ingress protection rating, additional protection options are available on request.
